Mary Addison Combs

Chapter President (2022)

Mary is an executive with 20+ years experience working with high level executives in higher education. She is skilled in Training & Development, Instructional Design, Planning & Analysis, Design & Development, and Implementation & Management.

Mary has worked with several organizations as a principal consultant to their processes and systems. She is the founder of Staff In Hand Consulting and has a passion for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating the findings to answer questions about projects, policies and programs, particularly about their effectiveness and efficiency.

Mary has a master’s degree in Occupational and Technical Studies, focused on Business and Industry Training from Old Dominion University. She enjoys exercising and teaching group exercise classes.



Marlo Thomas-Calloway, SHRM-CP/PHR

Past-President (2021)

Marlo has over 20 years of human resources experience in local city, state and federal governments. She currently works as a Talent Acquisition/Payroll Administrator. Previously, she worked as a Career Transition Trainer and has conducted Department of Labor training courses for over 8,500 transitioning military professionals for seven years. She continues her passion for human resource development as an Adjunct Professor with Tidewater Community College for the last 11 years. 

In addition, she has served as a board member for the local Hampton Roads Society of Human Resource Management and SEVA Association of Talent Development (formerly ASTD) for 10 years each. Marlo received her undergraduate degree in Human Resources from Strayer University and holds a Masters in Human Resource Management from Troy University. As the founder of Ms. MentorMe, The Career Coach, her passion is for helping others achieve their professional wealth through career development.

Marlo provides career coaching, training development and human resources services to individuals as well or corporations. Her goal is to help build strong-minded talented professionals that can actively contribute to their industry of choice.


  

Dr. Angela D. Pearson

VP of Programming 


Angela serves as the President and CEO of OD Synergistics Consulting LLC which was founded in 2019. She is a trusted advisor to business leaders in successful companies in the US, working with them to assess organizational issues, reshape structures and processes, and build depth of management capability. She is a skilled diagnostician who helps her clients to understand organizational strategies and systems to make comprehensive decisions. ​Her passion lies in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. In addition to her consulting work, Angela is a Navy and Army veteran, Organizational Development Certified Professional (ODCP) and a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Coach (CSSBB). In her career, she has worked for many well-known companies in roles such as Operations Leader, Human Resources Generalist, Training Manager, and Environmental Health and Safety Manager. 


As a creative self-starter, Angela's expertise includes applying the core aspects and strategic approaches of organizational psychology to amplify HR, safety, learning development, continuous improvement, and leadership success. She has experience in developing strategies based on data-driven approaches. Her exceptional communication and conflict management skills support her thought leadership style. She delivers enthusiasm, focus, and leadership to engaged and curious people in order to develop value-added experiences. She is the President of the Board of Directors for The Food Pantries for the Capital District, serves as a member of Equinox, Inc's Development and Domestic Violence Committees in Albany, NY and is a SHRM/USAA Veteran Ambassador.
