Bob Bowles retired with 36 years in federal civil service with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Navy. He spent 18 of those years as the Quality Manager for the Coast Guard Finance Center in Chesapeake. Bob also has 18 years of experience implementing and evaluating the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence in a variety of organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia since 1994 and has served as the organization’s Executive Director since 1999. Bob is also an adjunct instructor for the National Graduate School teaching a variety of Quality Systems Management courses at the Masters and Bachelors level in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. He also does independent consulting to help organizations implement the Baldrige business model.
