Performance Architecture:

The Worker, Work and the Workplace

One thing that transcends seasons is the consistent value in sharpening our skills in organizational analysis.  It is an innately human characteristic to do organizational analysis, it would be hard to find someone who doesn’t harbor a considered opinion on how well or not their own or someone else’s organization is performing. In fact most are either improving in their ability to conduct organizational analysis, or could benefit by doing so. But there is a difference between a layman and a professional who is involved in organizational performance improvement.  If you agree with that and would like to both share and learn, you are most welcome to join us on Oct 28th at VMASC for Dr. Roger Addison’s facilitated workshop on Performance Architecture: The Worker, Work and the Workplace.

Workshop Date and Location: October 28th, 8:00am – 3:00pm, Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC), Suffolk, VA

What makes one performance improvement solution produce promised results, while another falls short or fails utterly? Often, we discover the driver of a performance issue but not its point of origin, and treat a symptom rather than the cause. Roger will explore the three organizational levels – Worker, Work, and Workplace – and learn to pinpoint the source of a performance issue. Try out helpful tools for each level, and create well-targeted solutions that deliver results.  In additions, we will take a few side trips as we explore the Performance Architect’s Landscape: what we do, how we think and where were we work.

Objectives

  • State the 3 levels and explain why they are necessary to sustain improved performance
  • Analyze performance and identify obstacles at each of the 3 levels
  • Differentiate between processes and practices
  • Use tools provided to improve performance in your organization
