Knowledge Management and Coaching:  “Other” Approaches to Organizational Performance Improvement

Employees are developed and educated through methods other than training classes and seminars. Chief among these are coaching, mentoring, and building a learning organization.  Training and job aids provide a solid foundation for establishing and delivering critical skills.  On top of this foundation, an organization’s sustainability and vitality require deliberate and systemic action to refresh and renew its organic knowledge; and also to bring out the best in tomorrow’s leaders.  We’ll explore some knowledge management and internal coaching approaches that can help you guide your organization’s destiny.

Speaker: Mark Bowers, PMP

Mark Bowers, Principal of the cleverly-named Mark Bowers Consulting LLC, helps leaders improve their organizations’ performance.  His passion is for coaching folks in the social sector to learn how they can accomplish powerful results with limited resources. Typical clients include federal, state, municipal, and non-for-profit organizations.  He has over 30 years in leadership and management of government business and IT efforts including 20 years as a Navy submarine officer and 10 years in corporate leadership.

An avid believer in giving back, Mark serves on the Boards of Directors for the local chapters of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and the National Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Council (SDVOSB-C)
