"Personal Branding- Exude a 1st Class Image"

Personal Branding as a movement has been around since Tom Peters’ 1997 cover story “The Brand Called You” appeared in Fast Company. Years later it is still relevant. You already have a personal brand, whether unintentional or intentional. This Career Club 3.0 will cover how thoughtfully developing your personal brand can impact your success and set you apart, and includes a demonstration of what dressing for success really means today. Join us for an overview of important components of personal branding and leave with new ideas of how to more purposefully represent your brand as you move through the world.

Lesa L. Hanlin, EdD, is a former biology teacher, school principal, and small business owner who is currently Manager of Academic Outreach for the Eastern Region of the University of Virginia. Dr. Hanlin has interviewed hundreds of applicants for various positions, and believes “you are always on an interview”. She was named Small Businessperson of the Year by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce in 2006. In addition, Lesa is the Founder and Executive Director of Gowns for Hounds, a local nonprofit which sells donated, gently loved gowns to raise monies for veterinary care for companion pet owners in need.
